Today, time is seen as scarce. And so it is filled, condensed, consumed. Time propels, structures days, presses on. Down below in the valley, people chase after it, often without ever arriving. Up on the mountain, it loses its edge. bergzît (from old High German: mountain time) turns the clocks back. It follows the light, the weather, one’s own pace. A morning without urgency. An afternoon without aim. Time as space. And every now and then, it reveals itself as unexpectedly open. A chance for those who look a littler closer. Right now.
